Rima Kallingal launched 'Mamangam the school of Dance'

Actress Rima Kallingal's dream project 'Mamangam the school of dance' is officially launched by now. The school of dance was inaugurated by actress and danseuse Manju Warrier at 10.30 am on 31 July 2014 in Café Papaya, Kochi.

The objective of Mamankam School of to provide each student an opportunity to explore, understand and cultivate his/her own style and character in dance.


The institute will train students in Indian dance forms Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi and in the martial art Kalaripayattu. It will also train Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art form, which combines dance, acrobatics and music. This art form is known for its quick and complex moves, kicks, spins and highly mobile techniques. There will be training in the Hip Hop dance form also. In addition to this there are programs like 'Udaya - Introduction to dance','Punarjani - Classical dance classes','Yoga - Morning weekday batches'.


Rima Kallingal will not be an instructor at the school. Instead she picked up a group of of established trainers, including Jaikishore Mosalikanthi, Padmavani, N Srikanth, Ashwathy V Nair, Nancy Joy, Dil Sagar, Sritheren and Narayani Anoop, Santhosh and Nancy Joy.
